cassett player

I have a 91' Cougar LS it has the standard AM-FM radio with the cassett player. I doubt the cassett player has been used to play over two or three tapes since it was new. I get a real bad hum when I play a tape if it was a player in the house I would call it a AC hum.

I have looked all over this part of Kentucky for a cassett player cleaner tape to no avail.

Anyone know of a good way to clean the player head or what might be causing this. The car only has about 60,000 original miles on it. The radio shows no sign of the hum on AM or FM.

Any information will be appreciated.
