I've only heard 2 of their songs, but so far, I like it. I'm going to buy it tomorrow.

It's weird though. As a long-time RATM fan, I was really dissappointed when they "broke up", and although I like Chris Cornell, I just didn't feel like he could fill the hole left by Zack. So far I think he's actually done a pretty good job.

But I keep hearing that one song, and it sounds EXACTLY like a RATM song, and then all of a sudden Chris starts singing, and it kinda throws me off. I think it will grow on me though.

I've heard that same track, and the first couple times I was like "WTF?!?!" when Chris started singing.

I was never a big Rage fan, though I do like Bulls on Parade, Killing in the Name, and a couple other favorites. And I've always found their style very interesting, and something of a "niche" band, if I may assign that title to them. However, I find myself unimpressed and even disappointed with Cochise, and therefore wondering if this seemingly great union of Cornell and Rage is actually going to add something significant to the music industry. I'll wait until I hear something I like from the album before I venture to the store to pick up a copy.

Now, on the other hand, the other big release of this past Tuesday November 19th, MUDVAYNE's The End of All Things to Come, is one kick ass album :D So far, very very pleased with their new album. And its great to see that unlike so many of their contemporaries, they NAILED their second major record.

Rock on!! :ylsuper I've said this (or some to this effect) many times, but I'll say it again: MUDVAYNE FUCKING RULES!!!

I have to say that after listening to the album a few time I am still undesided as to wether or not the colabiration is a good thing or not.

The lyrics and vocals just don't seem to gel 100% (especially on cochise)
but on other tracks the do seem to blend together a little better. Track 11 (Bring em back alive) is probably my favorite track off of the album, mainly because there are less vocals:rolleyes: . Now if they would release it as a solely musical album no lyrics at all

:ylsuper

may just ahve to go out and try and find MUDVAYNE's The End of All Things to Come. As I am begining to agree with JD's taste in music

:sun:  They are not for everybody, but if they fit your tastes, there are few bands better than Mudvayne. And they do dance to the beat of a different drummer, IMO, in terms of the genre they represent. Good variety of sound, emotional lyrics, and heavy enough to hang on true metal programming shows, like XM Satellite Radio's Liquid Metal. SWEET!! :sun:

If you are unsure if you like their music, check out Dig and Death Blooms from their 2000 LP LD 50. These are good yard sticks for getting a feel for what they sound like.

plus any Cradle of Filth fans on here they rock    OTEP is absolutely hard core!!! No B.S. there. I got to see them this summer on the second stage at Ozz Fest. They were pretty cool, and I liked their set quite a bit. ...I forget her name, but the volcalist is something else with the lows she can hit. I am particularly impressed with the lows she hits on "No Way Out."

blah......Sorry you guys, but I'm going to have to say that I'm not a fan of Audioslave, I never liked RATM, or Soundgarden much, so mixing 1/4 of Soundgarden and 3/4 of RATM, never appealed to me

thats cool. We all have or own opinons of what is or is not good. But yeah I never really liked Soundgarden (probably why I don't like Chris Cornell)

Taz, I must have a listen. I've had a couple of people suggest to me I should check out Audioslave, so make sure it's in your car when next I see you. :D

I bought it on Friday, been listening to it ever since. I like it pretty well, but it's no RATM, and it's no Soundgarden. But, I'm biased because of the fact that I am a huge RATM fan, and a big fan of Soundgarden... Never really cared for Chris Cornell's solo stuff though...

It's good, but I can't say it's a favorite... I do like Gasoline, Hypnotize, and Bring 'em Back Alive...

Damn Damn Damn.

Mudvaynes album still has not been released here yet :(

It looks like it won't be released until early next year. Aparently they (the record execs) didn't want it released here before christmas because they feared that after christmas the sales would cease and the band get forgotten (or some shit like that)

I hate waiting
