Larger wheel size question.

Hello,
Im thinking of upgrading from the stock 16" rims to some aftermarket 17" or 18" rims, with NON-low-profile tires. I dont like the idea of riding on crappy little expensive tires. My only question is that If i upgrade the Rim size, but keep a normal size tire... 1. Will the tires fit in the wells and be able to turn without rubbing on the inside of the fenders?
and 2, will I need any sort of speedometer or odometer adjustment to compensate for the different sized wheels?
Im not at all good at this area of knowlege, so any help would be great.
thank you!

Sorry I don't believe it will work. For one with 17" or 18" wheels you have to use lower aspect ratio tires/lower profile. This is to keep the final drive gearing ratio the same and keep the speedometer reading good or within an acceptable margin of error. Also, taller tires will most likely rub.
