Hi, First post. I have a small problem and was wondering if someone can assist. My radiator fan (The one that comes on when you turn AC on - to the left when facing the motor) does not come on when the AC in on. However, it will spin slowly if I start it with my finger. Do you think the fan MOTOR is the culprit, or can it be something else? PS it is fine when I drive, but overheats when ideling and running. Thanks Jeff

As a quick test you could swap 2 of the relays in the under hood box. I think the name of the relay that controls the fan you mentioned is called the "condensor fan relay" on my 05 it is the front relay on the far passenger side of box. If you look at the part #s marked on the relays many have the same number. You could swap it with the horn relay or the radiator fans relay. Try to mark the original position of the relays before the swap.
The other test would be to jumper voltage from the battery direct to the DISCONNECTED fan and see if it is able to run with a direct connection to voltage source.

Thanks - I had done that exact thing before my post (swap relays) and it had same issue. I did not think of putting power directly to fan motor until I read it in the manual at the car shop today, but I did stick a small VCR (yes taken apart VCR) motor at the fan connection point and it workrd, so I suspect it is a bad radiator motor (Denso) as I'm finding out from research. So I ordered one on E-bay (a complete assembly - fan, blade, shroud). I hope it is easy to swap out.

It was a pretty easy job, but tool about one hour because car was HOT as wife had been using it and it was dark outside so had to use flashlight with no one to hold it as wife was taking care of the kids.
