What to do first?

My dad has an S2k, he wants to know wht would be the best upgrade to do to the car first. But he isnt looking for anything intense like a turbo or supercharger, just simple bolt-ons

Intake, header, exhaust if he wants to.

bolt ons aren't really going to do anything power wise

then wht should u do to gain more power?

needs engine work but bolt ons wont add much difference. try msd ignition and cat-back exhaust system. cold air intake 8mm sparkplug wires ngk plugs not too much can be done without major engine work like cams titanium valves different injectors

The only things your going to be able to do to get a noticeable amout of power is supercharger or turbo.

I'm waiting for the Jackson Racing supercharger to come out. Should be nice.

ok so he's set on getting a cat back, but im wondering if headers would be worth it or would the cat end up killing any extra power tht would be avalible from the headers?

also, i was wondering if anyone knew anything about gettn a new ECU, iv heard alot about the hondata and I was wondering if anyone had it and how they liked it.

You dont have enough Mods to support an ECU tune... and yes, a header will help... but wont be as noticeable with the cat still there

but do you think it would be worth spending the $300 or so for the headers?

depends.... if all he's doing is an exhaust. then no... if he is going to continue modifing the motor, then yes... the header will compliment the other parts as well

k, because he was thinking of doing catback for now and then adding on a test pipe, headers, intake, and ECU. that give him noticeable power? and would doing the ECU be a good idea with only those mods?

it couldnt hurt, and yes after all that he'll notice a power increase over stock. s2k's motors respond very well to aftermarket mods

FINALLY GOT THE CATBACK AND GOT IT INSTALLED!

But iv bin doing my reseach and im wondering what kind of Intake and Headers and Test pipes do people like and hav had a good experiance using? Also for later referance, which would be a good ecu upgrade? bc iv heard good things bout hondata and AEM but i also heard there are other good 1's out there. If anyone has had an upgraded ECU or knows about them, please give your 2 cents

Talk to your loca tuner and find out what he recommends, after all, he's the one thats goin to be tunning it.
