Rearend probs supercrew

I noticed recently when takeoff it sounds like back brakes stick then pop loose. After looking nto it its the rearend. When i was tightening the lugnuts i heard it. Then i noticed if i push trk u can hear it from both ends.Took brakes off then rotor it seems there is some in and out play. I dont know if this comes from center rearend or where to go from here. I just know it bugs the crap outta me to hear the pop every takeoff. Any ideas i would love to here... DAVE

have you checked or serviced your u-joints?

Yes i replaced front u joint a while bak and rear appears to b good.U can really tell noise comes from inside rearend or along nside axle...

What year? Best advice would be to open it up and inspect internal components.

It is an 01 4x4 if i open up from bak is anything gonna spring out? I just dont wanna be down 4 a while

Ok this weekend im gonna open it up.Did notice some fluid is on back of rotors on inside of guard. It looks really dry like its been a while. Opened up plug on side of rearend ,fluid instantly started to drain out so its not low. Didnt see any major metal flaked actually pretty clean. Only other thing am wondering is rearend supposed to be really hot after driving? Hot enough i could only touch for a couple seconds. When i take back off rearend how much fluid will it loose so i know how much to buy...? DAVE

Yes, truck rear ends run hot.

I would buy at least two bottles of 80w90 or whatever grade of oil your truck requires.

Opened rearend up everything looks perfect. The noise comes from where the inner part of axle comes in through the gear and is held in by like a half washer. Didnt get into that was afraid wouldnt get bak 2gether.There is about an inch of play when jacked up ,spin tire before gear grabs.After puttn new synth oil and kendall limtd slip add cant hardly hear sound. Guess im ok for now just dont wanna have something break on road...DAVE
