Intermittent Radio

I have a 2002 Jetta. Radio has been working since new, however in the last few days it has been very intermittant. When unit quits all power is lost, it will only quit when going over large bumps, usually starting again when I go over another bump or give console a sharp hit. Any suggestions.

My wife may be having a very similar problem. Her radio just up and quit (when she went over a big bump) and hasn't worked since. I have been trying to find if their is a fuse directly for the radio, but haven't had any luck yet. The back of the radio in her 99 jetta doesn't have one.
