Hello,
Some one please help me...lol. I have replaced the starter, battery, ignition switch, and the tumbler and casing. Still when you turn the key, I get dash lights and all electrical, but the engine will not turn over. I can jump start it with a screwdriver but can not get it to turnover with the key. Any sugestions? Please. Thanks

Check under the hood for a box with relays and/ or fuses. There should be a relay for Ignition. Swap it with another relay of the same value and try to start the car..
Another possibility would be the inhibit switch or neutral safety switch. Try starting the car in Neutral or move the shift lever through all the gears and back to Park and try it again. Also check the battery connections and ground from the battery to the engine block for a good connection.

Thanks for the reply. Since I have posted I have replaced the battery connections and checked the fuses and still the same issue. I am going to replace the neutral safty switch today. It has taken me quite a while to figure out where that is located, but I think it is located at the brake pedal with 2 connectors and then goes up towards the shifter on the column. I will check that out today and report back. Thanks for the ideas.

according to the wiring diagram, 3 inputs will pickup the Inhibitor relay and provide voltage to the starter solenoid. 1) cruise control system 2) the ignition switch and 3) the inhibitor switch ( neutral safety switch). If you already switched out the inhibitor relay and no that it is good, you should remove it and using a test light check for voltage to ground at each of the inhibitor relays connection points. Also check the fuse panel inside, the neutral safety switch power is supplied by a 10 amp fuse. good luck

Well, I figured it all out. Using a test light I was able to determine that the starter itself had a bad ground, for some reason. I ran a wire from the negative terminal to the top bolt of the starter mount and it works great now. Thanks for all the help and hopefully this will help others, because it seems to be a common issue with the Villager.
