Fast and the Furious: 4

Just days after it was revealed in the trades that Universal wants to put a fourth The Fast and the Furious before cameras by March (to avoid the looming industry strikes) -- this despite not having either a script or a director ready -- comes the first casting rumors for the film.

According to the automotive consumer site Edmunds.com's Inside Line, citing sources close to the first three Fast and the Furious films, "it's rumored that the next film will reunite many characters and actors from the first three including Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Tyrese Gibson and Lucas Black."

Edmunds also claims, "Obviously the story will once again center around automotive mayhem of the most intense sort, but the rumor is that this time most of the action will be set in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil."

The site adds that the cars for the film might include a 1970 Dodge Charger (which also featured in the first film), the new Dodge Challenger, the Chevrolet Opala and perhaps a 1987 Buick GNX for Vin Diesel's character.

Sorry, but I'm completely stoked about this. Even if all of them aren't in, any combination of Walker-Black-Diesel would do me just fine.

But most importantly....CARS!

It'd be best for me if Black had a prettied up version of the RB26 'Stang he had in Tokyo Drift.

Anyone else prematurely excited?

No, because I doubt they would all join the cast for a fourth movie, though the writer from the third one is currently writing the script for the fouth, i highly doubt that Vin, tyrese, paul, and lucas would be given enough money to do the 4th since they got a buch of no names for the 3rd.

Basically the movie I would love to see a s a fourth one would have to be a prequal to the third, where Domenic met Hans in mexico and how they became buddies, which would eventually lead to Hans getting into alot of shit and ending with hans leaving for Tokyo. Doing this would fill in alot of the empty plot holes they left in the third one, such as Hans making the reference to those "Old cowboy movies where they make a run for the border" and how "Tokyo is his mexico." Then it would also make more sense on why Domenic showed up at the end of the third one since at the end of the first one he was in mexico (Watch after the crdits in the 1st movie)

Which then it would tie in all the movies and then they could make a 5th one (Which they already purchased a script for) that could then tie in all the previous characters, which this movie would have to start off with tyrese and Walker since we last left them opening up a garage shop in Miami.

I saw 1 opening day. I saw 2 in theatres after the 'hype' died. I refused to see 3 untill dvd. If I see this one it will certainly be on dvd and possibly on mute.

I think Gotian has a good point. I waited to see the third one when it came on cable. Right decision IMO. The third movie sucked pretty hard... even harder than the other two if at all possible. I like car movies though so however crappy the plot and/or acting is the cars usually make up for it. But why can't they make a car movie that doesn't involve seizure inducing paint jobs and unrealistic situations?

I actually liked the 3rd one and thought it was the most entertaining out of all of them. They did a really good job with the race / chase sequenses. But as I said before, the movie I would love to see regarding a 4th one would definately have to be with Domenic and Hans, that would be a badassed movie considering those are the 2 best characters to come out of these movies. Plus you have the hotheaded, reckless Domenic and the calm, cool and collected Hans to Contrast him.

I like that idea Gotian, and those two's contrasting personalities would be pretty cool to play off each other.

I had to wiki the chevy opala, I thought the author messed up the word impala. From what I read, it ain't too impressive, performance or looks. Maybe they can make a hybrid swap, since they already did a japanese legendary engine into a classic american car

If they're going to make a fourth, why not fucking make it a TV series. Save time, money and waiting for another flop movie for ricers to follow. Jeez...

I've always thought the third to be actually quite good, the first to be so so, and the second to represent everything that is wrong with the movie industry.

Everything that's wrong with the movie industry can be summed up by Red Line.. you boys remember that bombshell?

Terrible.

Some of the drifting scenes were definitely great... But ths movie was like the story was forced onto it... it was just wrong... and what make it worse was how they tried including the whole "japanese honour" thing in, doing a terrible job mind you... :banghead::screwy:

I am. I don't care about how bad the movie will be, it's all about the cars. I wasn't excited about Tokyo Drift simply because I don't like drifting.

Can't wait to see it with the Challenger!

I always check these out opening weekend for, if nothing else, watching the 17 year old kids leave the parking lot. I liked the first in a "so bad its good" kind of way. Thought second was horrible, and loved the third for the training montage. Always a sucker for training montages.

That wasn't filmed for the movie at all, it was part of a promotional deal they were doing and Eddie Griffith thought he could actuall control the car and just motored on into a K-Rail barrier due to massive understeer.

In addition to the montage they also had cameos for extra awesomeness. it would have been like if in rocky 4 when after rocky makes his speech, they had zoomed in on larry holmes in the crowd with a tear in the eye and mutter "your the champ, rock" or something like that.

Mustang, Viper, and Monte Carlo? Thats a bunch? And what ever Vin was driving in the end. They had more than that in the second.
