95 Tahoe Dome Light Problem

We just bought a 95 Tahoe 2 door for our son's first car. It has what seems to be a stock remote entry. The only problem is that the "unlock" button on the remote will turn on the dome lights but those lights don't go on when you just open the door. The owner's manual says that they should come on when the door is opened. But they don't:disappoin
So what to do?

This sounds just like the problem that I had on my 99.I hope it is but it will make you feel stupid like it did me once I figured it out.I found on my Tahoe that somehow I hit the dome overide button beside the headlight switchand it will only let the dome light come on when you use the remote entry.Check that and see if it helps.
Good luck

Unfortunately, I tried the overide button. (I once had a 99 Suburban w/ same thing--felt like DUH!) But I pushed the overide button on the 95 Tahoe and it doesn't make any difference--the light only comes on with the remote! Darn it!
