is it just like a circler plug? if your talking about the factory radio it might be the hyperlink port for the factory and if your talking about the sony then that might be the hyperlink port for satillite radio and/or ipod adapter.

lol yeah if you cant tell this is what i do for a living

its on the stock deck. is there anything that actually runs between the power antenna and the headunit other than the remote wire?

no the remote wire runs all the way back and just tells the motor to turn on and off. do you have the infiniti system or base?

Did you hack the wiring or do it right by buying a quick connect kit?

hmmm im not sure then. i would think its for an amp hook up but base stereos dont have factory amps to my knowledge i could be wrong.

well he got a sony deck which means the smart harness is out there so i hope he made his life easy and did it that way

i just thought of one other thing that port on the back of the factory deck could be... cd changer

of course i did it right, no ghetto splicing... its not the CD changer, and i knew some dodges were rear grounded, so i thought it might be some kinda ground, but, it looks like a mini antenna wire, just gray and smaller

Its not the wiring job, It is most likely the new head unit.

There is the big round plug that goes from the head unit to the antenna, this is what gives the radio reception. There is a (usually blue) wire that also goes to the antenna via a normal connection. This is what would make the antenna go up and down when it gets a 12v signal from the Head unit.

The problem is that your new HU is not set up for this (motorized antenna) so you have to improvise (but its easy.) Sometimes there is a spot to connect the remote wire to and it will get a constant 12v signal from the radio and thus keeping it in the up position. Sometimes you have to connect the remote wire in to the acc power wire (usually red) this will give you a constant 12v signal whenever the key is turned.

We have cool sprots cars, so we dont want ours up all day do we? no. So I wired in a switch. All you do is buy a $2 switch and wire it into the remote wire. I cut a small hole into the passenger side pannel on the center console and put the switch there. You really dont usually need the antenna up anyway (esp in the city)

yeah, i kno, the remote wire, also known as the blue one is hooked up, i do this often. thats why i can figure it out... is the power antenna on its own fuse?
