It would be cool to have a shotgun in reach if you should ever wake up to an intruder.

You don't need to be afraid of it if you don't break into someones house.
And that still takes to far to reach. I keep my 1911 on my dresser. Its perfectly level with my body when I'm in bed. I can grab and aim much faster than what it seems in this video.
