OK, I have a 2001 Taurus SEL and the rearview mirrors both went out at the same time. Being I have owned two other Tauruses I know the switch goes bad so I I went to the local dealer and bought a new switch. Well, guess what? The mirrors still don't work! Is there a fuse I don't know about somewhere other than the fuse panel or does anybody have a clue as to what the issue with this car might be?
Thanks for looking,
George

This is a pretty simple circuit. You've got power from the instrument panel fuse panel (fuse F2.26, 10A), the switch, ground for the switch, and the power mirrors.
You should check for power to the switch (hot at all times) on the dark green wire and use the black wire as your meter's ground reference. You should have battery voltage. If you have battery voltage, then check for voltage to the mirrors through the switch.
