2000 dodge stratus es

i got a 200 dodge stratus es, i just got it inspected and its all good but the check engine light comes on almost everyday, one minute it will be off and it seems everytime i step on it about 2 min later it will come back on...does anyone think they know what the problem is?...maybe get an oil change??

Oild change wouldn't hurt if you think it's due. Maybe a coolant flush and transmission service. Any tune up items that are due. This way, you can do things that need to be done eventually anyway.

Alos, I think Auto Zone may be willing to hook it up to one of the diagnostic computers to give you the error code. Then you can look it up and/or post it here. Somone may know what it's for, or at least help you narrow it down.

Azeline is right, and oil change never hurts.....but, that will not cause the check engine light to come on. Go to a local parts house and have them read the codes. They will tell you what the problem is, but also post the code here and we will do our best to help you.
