Replacing inner window scrapers

I need help figuring out how to install a new rubber window scraper on my 1978 VW convertible.
It seems like there should be some sort of tool to assist in getting the rubber to open up. I took the door panel off to see if I could get at it from behind but that isn't possible with the window in it. Can anyone explain what I need to do to replace the inner window scraper. Thanks, Mark

The only way to do it is to remove the window.

Thank you for your help. I guess I'll be removing the window soon.
Hopefully it won't lead to something else. My VW is in such nice shape, I want to make every effort to keep in that way. Thanks again, Mark

Hello, I a 1973 Super Beetle. My question is do I have to remove the window to replace the outside window scraper? Thanks!

Got it done. Autobody shop where I live did it for fifty dollars a door. Thought that was a good deal!
