This is one of my models that have been left alone halfway through. (This one actually have only started for a bit) Plans were spoon style duckbill spoiler, spoon rims, and were started around 3 years ago. This time I will finish up the spoiler. The car is also lowered and seems overdone. Added a muffler and interior repainted. I also modified the gearstick to resemble a manual rather than the CVT.

The body had traces of putty powder all over it from the work I previously done, After those were cleaned out I shot a coat of primer to show the spoiler still needs some surface work. I used a wrong kind of putty to build that spoiler, it left a lot of bubbles after shaping.

OVER DONE?!?! Man that looks great like that with the stance and wheels. I suggest just using some C/A glue and some accellerant to fill the pin holes.

Actually I tried using CA glue to fill up the pin holes before (but the ones with just the bottle itself so no accelerant) I made too big of a drip and it became a big drop bubbled over the rest of the spoiler. I tried to sand that drop flat and the putty around it got sanded away long before the drop of CA glue took a scratch. Since I couldn't think of a way to clean that up I didn't continue with this model and that's why I have this car unfinished up to now.

Update:

Such a decent paint job being marred by the ghosting mold lines I had previously thought took care of. Damn it Tamiya, why can't they make the bumpers separate at the first place??:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

Paint is Honda vivid blue pearl (B520P). Clearcoat is duplicolor can. I purposefully didn't paint the whole hood because it will be covered by some carbon fiber. Same goes for rear spoiler.

Yes the spoon rims are already on the chassis.

Put the pieces together to check fitment. I really don't like the way they make the taillights go on the body. The tailight assemblies look good but I couldn't put them in without cutting a chunk off their bottoms.

looks awesome!, but i think it would look 2 times better if the spoiler was in carbon fiber

great minds think alike! :) I think your stance is perfect and the color looks great!

here's mine (no carbon fiber decal so painted it in a metallic black gray)

Wow, great work. The bodywork on the spoiler is terrific, especially the even seems al the way around. Care to share how you did that?

But I totally disagree about CFing the wing. The curve looks perfect, and adds a very nice flair to the roofline. I think it would be a real shame to 'cut' this flowing shape up with a bodycolor/CF division line.

On the other hand, CFing the wing and the roof (everything in between the rain sills) plus the bonnet would probably look really cool....

I really like the contrast between the taillights and the color... no need to smoke them at all... they pop like crazy!

This is after polishing with sandpaper and heavy rubbing compound,

and...

Sorry man MPWR but I got to put CF onto the spoiler to make it look authentic Spoon Sports duckbill spoiler!!!

After CF:

http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b168/kaho4g94/DSC01308.jpg

Some parts of the CF decals broke off and I need to cover the rips with black paint. After the decals dry up I will cover them with duplicolor clear, followed by a very heavy coat of duplicolor clear to the entire body, then polish again. =)

Really really really cool:-D If you need to touch up CF decals, try using gunmetal instead. It blends a little better than just black...Keep up the awsome work!!!

This is my second time doing CF decals...and the first time only involved flat surfaces, so this is probably not a really good job yet. I did the wrong side of the spoiler first and now the top shows all the gradients between the top and the bottom piece of CF decal. Hood has a huge chip where the NGK decal is. Also there is a smaller chip right at the black dot on the center of the hood (wrong mistake at the wrong spot). Tried filling it up with gun metal paint but the spot just became black after the duplicolor clear was sprayed onto it. Some paint chipped off at the panel lines where I cut the CF decals.

I've had nothing but trouble with carbon fiber decals, too, but yours still looks fantastic. This whole project is just awesome. Can't wait to see it keep shaping together. Great work!

Worked a little bit on the muffler while the last coat of clear is curing on the body. The muffler was modified from the JUN prelude muffler (cut away the slant pipe and the mounting point etc. The tube on the entry of the muffler is a styrene rod add on made to fit the fit stock pipe. Got to put up with the scratched up chrome and the split line on the muffler since I am basically making use of leftover garbage (it is actually not THAT bad though).

I am keeping the chassis black since its no point painting things that won't show.

hopen 403: Since the suspension has been lowered using a very thoughtless way (cleanly cut off where the control arms are, then plainly reglued at new location using CA glue, my way of lowering a car a few years ago), therefore the suspension pieces including the brakes are very easily damaged by taking the wheels off. I would love to take the wheels off and give each of the tires a used look, but I can't even do to risk the hubs breaking off.

However, I took some pictures of the front and rear wheels showing the stuff behind them:

Everything was kept pretty much stock except the ride height. I kept the rears unchanged and unpainted (brand new factory drum brakes =) ). If I remember correctly, the fronts I brushed on tamiya titanium silver, and then liberally brushed on tamiya smoke clear to darken the rotors. Calipers were titanium gold, followed by smoke clear, tamiya yellow green was used at the inside pit of the caliper to represent brake pads back plate. The Fujimi Spoon rims fit straight in without problems. The smoke that's on the rotors are very uneven but with the wheels hiding most areas its not that noticeable.

I didn't like the stock license plates being so thick and molded in red plastic (really hard to paint them white) So I cut them up only to use them as "license plate mounting kits". Then I used 0.25mm plastic sheets cut to shape. As a bonus its already white so I don't even need to paint them.
