Steering Wheel Help

So Im putting on a new steering wheel on my 2 dr 99 Mirage and i guess I was sent the wrong adapter cause theres a part of the clockspring on the bottom that sticks out and makes the hub not fit, so im stumped. Do I need the clockspring? Does anyone have any directions on what I should do to attach this thing? Or any suggestions?

Also having trouble with the E-brake handle, How do I get it off? I bought a new handle and cant figure out how to get the old one to come off.
