Ignition Cylinder

Hello everyone,

Has anyone had their ignition cylinder replaced?

Local Buick Dealer is advising that it is part of the steering column; they could try and drill out the old as an alternative. Doesn't sound right to me.

Any feedback appreciated.

I had to replace mine, froze up and I could not turn it or get my key out. Ya, they have to do all that due to the Anti Theft stuff. They drilled out mine and did a great job replacing it. You can hardley tell they did anything at all to it and it was a whole lot cheaper than replacing the trim that covers up the stering column.
