That depends on what you mean by 'hot car' doesn't it? Do you mean fast, stylish, or great handling? Or all of the above?
Do you care if the car is front wheel, rear wheel, or all wheel drive? Do you prefere certain manufactures over others? At least narrow it down a bit.
Toyota MR2, BMW 325i, Mitsubishi Eclispe GSX, Acura Integra GS-R, and Ford Escort GT all come to mind. But as you can tell, these are all very different cars.
I suggest you go to autotrader.com or somewhere and type in 6000 or 7000 for your max limit and see what comes up.
I got a 90 GSX (all wheel drive turbo) for under $3000. 0-60 in 6.5 but you have to change the belts at the 60k intervals or risk engine damage.

Well all of the above would be nice but i doubt i could get it all for 6000. i was thinking about acura integras but they are all pricey becuz they are acura and ur buying the name. fwd or rwd or awd doesn't matter much to me but probably rwd. i was kind of hoping for something with more than 4 cylinders aswell. well tell me if that narrowed it down a lil and give me suggestions too.

I seen many BMW 325i for around 6,000. They had alot of miles but were in excelent shape. Might get lucky.

yeah they are pretty stupid about that .. but you can look in the paper depending on your area.. there should be a number or something cause usuall yonl dealers can go to those.. but you can get in for like $15...
but make sure you bring a check.. anything you buiy must be paid in full in order for you to bet on it.. so make sure you have the cash to cover..
i had a buudy who got a 97 lude for 8k it was rear ended and all that was done was the bumper was replaced no frame damage..
so it's a sweet ass deal..
by the way this was 2 years ago when the 97 lude was still much more expensive than 8k
