This morning, when I cranked my truck up (a 2002 Ranger XLT), My airbag light was flashing, and I kept getting a 46 error code. It went blink, blink, blink, blink...pause... blink, blink, blink, blink, blink, blink...longer pause, and would repeat three or four times. What does this indicate? It stays on after it does the sequence several times.

This particular code indicates a problem with the drivers side pretensioner(seat belt buckle assembly). Did you purchase the truck when new? Depending on month it was purchased and mileage it might still be covered under warranty. All safety items on newer vehicles have a federally mandated warranty period of 60months/5years which ever comes first. Call your local dealer just to check, they can pull up warranty info on your truck they should do it for free.

Thanks for the info, now I know what to look at. :grinyes: This truck has had two owners before me, and I got it from a "buy-here-pay-here" place, so I don't think they can do the warranty. It was purchased as is with 136K-miles. Btw: 60 months and 5 years are the exact same time period (check your post! :screwy:). Was the warranty period 5-years and 50K-miles or something like that?

Sometimes our brains get forward of our typing, and some really crazy stuff can come out. :D
