I found out a while ago Mazda announced 2007 was the last year for the Mazdaspeed 6. reason being is that in 2008 a new Mazdaspeed Vehicle is coming out. Unfortunately no MS RX-8, but the new MS vehicle will be the next MX-5 Miata. They are dropping in the same 2.3 turbo they have been using in the Speed 6 and Speed 3. 270hp out of a RWD that weighs 2400-2600 depending on the package, that makes one crazy little roadster! Lets just see the pricing, makes me want to hold out on buying the TC now and saving money after selling the jetta to buy this!

Also the RX-8 is dated for an Upgrade in 2010 they are aiming for 300+ hp N/A with thier new renesis they are developing.

well going by how the other MS vehicles are going, the base price of the MS vehicle is around the same as a fuly loaded normal one. IE A fully loaded mazda 6s (The V-6 version) goes for about 26-27k and the base MS6 goes for 27-28k

Um, I guess you forgot Mazda already did this a few years ago (2004?) with the MazdaSpeed Miata... and they ended up killing that model because it didn't sell very well.

Was too expensive for what little car you got.

I didnt forget, and I know that they killed it off, it wasnt because it was too expensive it was because mazdaspeed models are limited production for 2 years. hence the MS protoge being a 2002, 2003, MS Miata 2004, 2005, MS 6 2006, 2007, MS 3 2007-going to be 2008 and the MX-5 will be starting in 2008. The reason why they are bringing it back is because of the high demand for the MS3 got and the sales that the miata has had through out the years, plus the fact that the miata hasnt seen a change in a while and since they have the engine relatively available they are dropping it in to match the RWD platform.

GM releases the Pontiac Solstice GXP/Saturn Sky Turbo in the US Market.
Mazda sees this and notices the sales.
Mazda says "oops."

Basically. In the last few years, I've only seen maybe three MazdaSpeed Turbo Miatas from their previous runs. They didn't sell very well, and convertibles... especially Miatas sell really well here in Southern California.

They just didn't sell, priced at $25,500 base price isn't too bad but they went for far more due to dealer markup. I think I remember seeing them for around $27,000. Which is rediculous.

Whats even funnier is that, in my area at least, a well optioned GXP will go for about 32k, and a Sky turbo about 34K. But there is a good wait for 'em (again, in my area), and one of my joint Chevy/BPG dealerships gave up their Zed Oh Six allocation for 2 GXPs. Someone else in my zone has been fighting to get one of her dealerships one for a month now.

To be honest, the Solstice and Sky are hell of a lot better looking than the Miata. Especially the new Miata body style... it just looks fat and like it has down syndrome.

Solstice and Sky = sex.

Oh dont get me wrong I love the Sky the styling is amazing, I'm not too fond of the styling of the miata myself seeing as how it looks like a deformed RX-8 since they took the chassis design from an rx-8. Just the fact that they are releasing another MS MX-5 is cool and if they keep with the current MS vehicles, meaning no mark up, then I could see alot of current miata drivers (Especially the autocrossers) upgrading to this one since the current miata is not competative in its class anymore.
