ok I have a 92 lumina with the 3.1L and it's not sending power to my fuel pump when I turn the key, the fuse and relay are fine, and the pump isn't fried because I can jump power to it and it runs. any ideas? I'm stumped and need some help.

Welcome to AF. Take a look at the wiring around the oil pressure switch also, related wiring diagrams can be found at autozone.com, repair guides.

Just a FYI, my pump quit running once, had a bad relay, put in a new one, still didnt work, blowed a fuse, replaced fuse, still didnt work, fooled around removing relay and putting it back in, been working now for over a year/
loose connection? who knows..

As max stated, the fuel pump relay will shut the pump off if it doesn't get a signal from the oil pressure sensor on this car. Also, check the underside of the the relay/fuse center under the hood. These are known to evelop corrosion and break contact (especially if you live in a state that uses salt on the roads in the winter).
