2001 Sequoia SR5 problem with Drive and Reverse

I have a 2001 Sequoia SR5 with just under 100,000. My wife drove it to church and it died in the parking lot. Started fine but when put into drive, 1, 2 or Reverse the engine died. Worst thing was after towing it to the dealer, they drove it right off the tow truck and "nothing was wrong with it". Any ideas? I'd hate to be stranded again...

I also have a 2001 Toyota Sequoia...have a noise with Drive and reverse...almost like a clunking or lunging...Brakes also feel spongy...any ideas?
