2000 z24 odometer problem

I have a 2000 z24 with the the stupid digital odometer. SOmetimes all the digets work but at other times every other one works. If you tap on the dash they will flicker on and off. Is there something loose or what? What was worng with the old style where it just turned over?

just bought '01--has same problem.usually after i drive for a while,it stops.it flickers w,the bass too.

You need a new speedometer head.

a speedometer head would cuase my odometer to flicker on and off? How hard is it to replace one?

Usually not to bad. You might have to remove some plastic and a few screws around the speedometer and a electrical plug in.
