I was driving my friends home last night and after dropping them off took a corner and headed down the street at an oncoming vehicle with the brightest headlights ive ever seen. I was going about 30 and swirved bad and went up on the curb and eventually into a ditch...
Long list short, the windshield was cracked, hood is wrecked, front mount is cruched along with the brand new painted bumper, fenders and crushed radiator is toast, and who knows what else as of right now I havent ripped it apart yet. This sucks major balls and I dont know what the hell im going to do since I just bought a bike and moved out and have 325 a month to pay rent along with school starting soon.

Damn, why has everyones car been getting screwed up lately. Well at least your ok, thats the main part. I hate cars whose lights are super bright and our cars are so low it makes it worse. Hopefully it wont take to much to fix it.

He probably had an illegal HID conversion in, that's why they were bright as hell, and also why they are illegal as hell. Sucks man, sorry to hear about it.

well the car is booked at 5400 only and the damage is over 73% so its totaled. I dont know what to do, I want to buy it back and try to fix it and come out ahead on the whole thing because if I let them have the car and take a check for 5 grand i'm losing big time. There is a lot of money into that car with repairs and performance and not to mention the time and effort and joy i've put into it... and the learning i've gotten out of it.

When that tree fell on my car, I didn't know what kind of damage there was going to be to it. I was thinking worst case scenario which would have been totalled. I would have been jackin all of the perfomance parts that I put on there off of it, and replacing them with the stock parts which i still have. Then I would have collected the insurance money and used it as a down payment on another one.
When you do all of the work yourself it becomes kind of sentimental, but if it's going to cost you way more to buy it back and fix it rather than getting another one, IMO it wouldn't be worth it. Of course it takes forever to find just the right car to buy. It took me 3 months of searching on the internet and newspapers to find mine.
Have you checked to see how much cash it would take to get the car back to the way it was?

I told you guys a while back about my buddies Eclipse I think?
He stayed the night at my place so he could see his girlfriend and I went to work the next day.I get a call around lunch saying that his car was involved in a wreck and I was freaking out.Come to find out later on that night....Some drunk ass hole was speeding on the wrong side of the road hit a Hyundai Elantra and swirved off through my yard and hit a 06 Chevy Pickup and then my buddies Eclipse Rs.The guy didnt stop there he broke a gas line then hit a building and then off into a huge drain ditch. The cops got there and where all buddy buddy with the dude because the mans daughter worked at the Station too.Unfortuently my buddies eclipse got the full blown impact about $8500 bucks worth in the rear end of damage. It was creamed. Then after about 3 months of fighting with the insurance people they decide OH ITS NOT THE GUYS FAULT WHO WAS DRIVING ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD DRUNK!!!Its the lady in the Hyundais fault....which was bull shit.So finally his insurance gives my friend some money he buys back his wrecked eclipse for $500 and then he buys a body.

Well..... the rebuild begins. The car did ended up being totaled which sucks. The car was somehow valued at 7800 and cost to repair was right around the 70% limit so im taking the car, a check for 5600 and a salvage title and starting.
I ripped everything bent and broken off today, one thing that might be a + is that the air conditioning unit is bent but still holds pressure so im gonna try to bend it back without breaking it which would save a lot of money. Then on monday its going to get the frame straightened. Then were getting all of the main frame pieces ordered along with a used radiator and fans. Then the intercooler and more piping and shit has been ordered. I had to order new projector headlights because the mounts were snapped on the old ones. And the front bumper cover and fog lights and covers are also ordered. So hopefully within a month working on it bit by bit along with school I can have it running again for a month of so before I have to put it away for the Wisconsin winter..........ahh depressing.
