I have a 2001 Silverado 1500 .. fleetside with the I guess 6'6" box. I am in need of a new soft tonneau (I have the factory GM Accessories one and I'd like to replace it with that one) I'm looking on GM Accessories Zone and they only list them for 2006 and 2007's (http://www.gmaccessorieszone.com) Can anyone tell me if that would still fit the standard 6'6 box of the `01 Silverados? I can't see that much of a difference but I'm sure there could be something. Thanks!

I'm not sure what a GM cover goes for but I would recommend an Extang Black Max cover. I have one on my truck and it is very nice cover with adjustable snaps and bows. Just my .02.

I've had an Access cover on my truck for several years now. They make a great cover. It mounts inside the bed rails, has adjustments for tension and the bows are attached to the cover itself making it real easy to roll up when you need to.

I just got rid of my EXtang cover for my 99 silverado. From day one the rear corners never layed down right, and when it got cold it was impossable to use. I went to the bay and found JB Performance USA. They sell TRUXEDO covers for all size beds. For my 99 with 6.6 bed it cost 242.95 delivered by FED X withen 5 days. Goes on easy and looks great

Do you just need the cover? Is everything else still good on the truck? Maybe you could look locally for a shop to make a new cover to go with your existing hardware, of you still have it. It might be cheaper than you think to just have a new cover made.

That's a nice looking cover(GM accessories.) I have a Torzatop on my truck and I love it. If you use your truck moderately to haul large items, you might check it out. :2cents: (I know you plan on replacing with GM.) It also makes getting small items that may slide to the front easier to get out, undo 2 cam style clamps (no tools) and fold cover to open 2/3 of your bed. It's a tri-fold, held by four clamps. Can drive with it 2/3 open. No snaps or velcro, bows and rails built in. You can put it on in less than a minute, and it comes off even quicker. Also great if you sometimes use a truck cap or other accessories that use the truck bed rails because the rails of the cover are not "semi-permanently" (require tools to remove) attched to the truck. They come off with the cover (cause they're built-in.) Cam levers also have holes in them to place a pad lock in to deter theft. Other manufacturers offer similar covers. Can ya tell I use this thing a lot and like it even more?

This is exactly what I was looking for.
Just to be sure.. this will not interfere with my side bed rails?

It looks to me that in the pictures of the silverado you would have to remove your rails. Because if I am not mistaken the bed rails attach using the stake pockets? Most covers I have seen cover the stake pockets.

The cover itself won't interfere with your bed rails at all but you might have a problem fastening the velcro sides of the cover because of the rails.
Here's a picture of the cover.
