they aren't rude to newbies, theyre rude to people who ask common questions which have been answered 50 times in the last month, it just happens to be that the people who ask those questions are newbies. If you go there just make sure to search for whatever you are looking for before posting a thread asking about it, because chances are it has been answered several times before

First off it not dangerous if you get it from a reputable dealer, such as Jim Wolf Technologies. Second, there isn't one for the Spec V yet, they are still trying to decipher the code for the ECU which takes a long time. Don't look for one anytime soon, I would think this summer at the earliest.
JWT has chips (ECUs) for the b13's and b14's I believe, as well as the 300Z, Q45, 240, etc. They are the authority when it comes to Nissan.

^^^ how about no.......technosquare does offer a reflash though, you just have to tell them what you want, you'll be without a car for like 5 weeks

This is a old subject. The only company that has made any ECU reflash is Technosquare and from what i know its only for 04 and up sentra spec v's. it costs 500 bucks too and you only get 8whp from the last remors i heard. JET chips are BS from what i hear. on a 2000 z24 it dyno'd 1whp. thats right 1. to me that means its usless because there can be a greater difference in a dyno just from a shift in the weather lol summit itself doesn't make ecu's or reflashes nor do they sell products from companies that make them for spec v's. Jim wolf is a great site/bussiness and most likley they will never make a reflash for specv's. another option you have is the Q pro from stillen. it's like a piggy back and it has been dyno'd to give 6whp. at the same price you can make 2 more whp with the techno reflash so.

i just checked technosquares site for updates and they do not have spec v's listed on there site so i would call and ask cause before they had a notice that said " looking for doner cars for reflashes for spec v's" now they don't so maybe they gave up or decided not to do it anymore.

did they finally disclose any information about the reflash? how much does it dyno, cost, what does it change?

when i was on the V-board i was really involved in the ecu production. i started a big thread that went on for a while trying to rund ppl up that were interested and stuff. it's too bad they still haven't made an official ecu reflash. you would think that would be their first priority over other cars cause more ppl mod sentras then other cars. they would make more money.

well i mean in terms of technosquare ecu's. i'm pretty sure technosquare only does nissans. i remember back when techno needed a donaor car they kept putting the ecu off for a freakin titan ecu they were working on. they a couple months went by and they said they had tested the ecu on a couple spec v's but they weren't gonna release any info on them until they decided to go public with the reflash. here we are today and we haven't heard anything. roughly a yr later. i don't know about everyone else but i want info on a reflash before i go ahead and ship my ecu in.

i've been sorely tempted to go for one of those JWT ECU upgrades for my '98, but i would rather not be without my daily driver for that long... anyone get one for a B14? i'm curious to hear a first hand report on price vs. horsepower increase. thanks in advance for any!
