I replaced the wiper switch ( multi switch) in my 85 monte ss , after pluging in the connector the wipers will not work. Used a jumper wire and the motor works. Can any one tell me how to test for proper wire to wire conection. There are 5 from the switch and 5 from the wiring in the car. Or of a book that can help. The chiltons book I have would start a good fire. Thanks

With or without pulse/delay?

Either way, the white wire going into the switch is power from the fuse. Does this wire have power with the ignition on?

Yes , With pulse. Yes the white wire has power. With the motor unpluged I tested the other 4 under dash , none have a ground. The chiltons book I have shower one of then is to go to ground. I also replaced the wiper motor and get the same as the old motor. The only thing that happens when it is all hooked up is when I push the wash tab the wipers work as long as I push the tab and as soon as I let go , they stop where they are. The book I have showes five wires of different colors than what are in the car.Any help is a wonderful thing , THANKS
