I have a 2003 TB 4WD. I noticed the other day that when I step on the gas the truck seems to think before it actually does anything. I have had the truck since it was new but never noticed it before. I just realized it because it was in the body shop for a week and I had a Jeep Liberty and when I stepped on the gas in the Liberty it took off. Anyone else experience this?

Also tps failure sare somewhat common here, have it scanned to look at the tps inputs as well as other related sensors.

Hello all. I am a new member here and I was reading through the forum. It seems like there may be someone out there that could help me. I have a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4X4 (4.0L 6cyl.) and while driving the Jeep may jerk a few times, backfire (just recently), and the RPM's drop to zero. I used to have to pull off the road, turn the car off, and it immediately starts back up. Lately, the car does not die while driving, but feels like it's about to. The problem has been intermittent but is becoming more frequent now. The problem occurs when the car is not under any particular load (such as going up a hill) and seems to happen only when the car is at normal operating temperature. I’ve already replaced the PCM, Ignition Coil, Crankshaft Position Sensor (CPS), Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor (MAP) (CHECK ENGINE light came on for all of the aforementioned), Throttle Position Sensor (TPS), Fuel Filter, Spark Plugs, Wires & Distributor Rotor. The CHECK ENGINE light has not come on since the replacements so I don't think there are any codes to check. My next step is to replace the Distributor & Distributor Cap. Does anyone have any idea on what's going on? Has anyone else experienced these types of symptoms?
Thanks in advance....
Thanks in advance....

I had the same problem with mine...did a complete tune up and now it performs better and saved about 3-4 miles to the gallon. here's a list of what i did:
-New Spark Plugs (ACDelco Iridium)
-New Air Filter
-Complete throttle body cleaning (i actually took of the throttle body and cleaned it)
-All oxygen sensors replaced
-Flushed transmission fluid
-Looking to replace fuel filter and pump, pump is a maybe. Also looking to clean injectors.
i don't know about seafoaming though. some people say it helps with hesitation and throttle response, but some say it ruins your oxygen sensors... any opinions??? -sorry, i think i should've started a new thread for this...

Good tip on the new spark plugs.
A new thread/post might be better on your truck in Bravada forum.
Transmission flush and seafoam and K&N mod may need some fine tuning points

yea, but the only reason why i use TB forums is because they are typically the same car...4.2L inline 6, same body as trailblazer, interior is exactly the same. so that's the main reason why. didn't want to cause any confusion

It could be your fan clutch I had a faulty fan clutch and when I first took off it was very hesitant and as times it would sound like I was driving a transport.

Try pulling the vacum line from the fuel pressure regulator and see if it looks wet inside, I had an 03 that did this and was wet inside ended up replacing the regulator and ran like a champ
