I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am Se 4-Door. I was driving down the road and the trac light came on. Every since then the car runs really rough, to the point where I do not want to drive it. Any Help?

Ok guys time to be hones here...

I am looking at a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am Se.

Service Engine Soon light is on aswell as the traction off light.

Car will run with very limited horsepower.

Heres where the fun comes in. I can get the car for $1000. 69,XXX miles.

He changed the Oil, Air Filter, Spark plugs.

When I asked "Have you changed the coil packs?" he says "No, this car does not have coil packs"

I know it does because I already own a 99 Grand Am. Could this be the problem? The car is broke down is there somewhere I can borrow the diagnostic tool to find why the service engine soon light is on?

I know the Trac will auto cut off with the Engine light. So If I find the engine soon light problem trac will come back on correct?

Does it sound like I am on the right track here?

Cause of the price :)

Ok I found out more info. This car is reading a error on the service engine soon diagnostic. Its reading 2 Misfiring cylinders. Is this a common problem? A sensor?

Whats your thoughts?
