I hope i can describe this right for you..

Here's the car before the new suspention, nothing special, just showing you..

I own a 1990 Crown Vic, for 2 years now, 60k on the car, seems like it was rather well maintained and I have tons of bills to show for but needed love as I bought it from that young guy who had it from his deceised grand father, I think anyway..

There is a weird vibration that seems to come from the road cracks and bumps, I can feel it on the floor and on the gaz pedal, it's pretty annoying and I can live with it but am affraid it could be kinda dangerous with time..

When I bought the car, the front right coil was broken and the car looked crooked, it's prolly been that way for a certain time because the rear right coil eventually got lower then the left one, compression compensation I guess..

Anyway, I have replace the whole front suspention including the sway bar link kits, coils and shocks with some brand new quality stuff.. Same vibration..

So basically, I turn the key, engage, acceleration's just fine and everything but I get to feel the road cracks on both my feet!

I then replaced the whole rear suspention, same thing, both U joints, nothing changed.. I looked at the gaz pedal cable and other stuff around it, it doesn't seem to come from there either.. I've had all the engine and transmission bushings checked at Ford..

Now the car is straight and high like a new car, it drives like a new car BUT, I can still feel those darn cracks on my feet while driving at any speed!

My theory is that while the car was crooked because of that broken spring, it puted stress on some bushings between the frame and the cockpit.. What do you think? And is there a way to verify those bushings?

Any idea, stuff I should look for? Amazingly, when it's freezing outside, the ride is much smoother, i even forget about it..:cwm27:

Any ideas are appreciated..

I'm just guessing here, but it sounds like it could be the body mount bushings that hold the body of the car to the frame. The only way that I know of checking them is with a prybar. Visually locate the bushings and take a prybar and place betwen the frame and the body..pry away. There should be little to no movement if the bushing is good. If the bushing is bad the body will rise off the bushing. I have never had to change one, so I don't know how involved it would be to change one. Worst case would be removing the body off the frame.

My other thought is the swaybar links, which you have already changed. Did you change the swaybar bushings? Excessive slop at the bushings will cause a thumping/banging sound when driving over ruts, train tracks, curbs, and just about any abrupt irregularity in the road.

By the way...your car looks fantastic.

I'm taking the car to my Ford dealer this week because my heater core is busted (again) but is under waranty ;) I'm running the car with the heating system by-passed for now.. I'm thinking of making all these tests while there, again, but it'll take the time it takes this time, it's really annoying to feel those road cracks like that.. :runaround:

I'll keep you posted..

Could it be that you've stiffened the suspension as a result of the repairs? Removing all the 'slack' in the suspension would produce more 'road feel' as you described. Softer shocks might help, if you demand a softer ride.
