94 bonne A/C problems

The car runs fine until i turn on the A/C then the car dies. Can anybody help me.

Possible seized compressor. Can you rotate the plate on the front of the compressor? It should rotate smoothly, with a reasonable amount of force, and have no sticky spots.

they just replaced the compressor. so i don't know what else it could be.

Did it do this before, key issue left out here.

Did you install a new expansion valve (orifice screen), new accumulator and flush the system when you installed the "new compressor"? The key point missing here is (as MAX was asking); was the car stalling before you installed the new compressor?

i did not install it the dealership did. i got the car back from them after they did some other work and i went to go turn on the A/C. and the car died i was still in there parking lot they pushed it back and supposedly fixed the a/c said the compressor was locked up then i got the car back the next day and went to turn on the ac and it stalled again.

So you are saying that the compressor would not turn after they worked on it? Did you verify this yourself, or are you just assuming? I would find another dealer if I were you.:frown:

i did not install it the dealership did. i got the car back from them after they did some other work Now we must ask several more questions;
1) Why did you take the car to the dealer in the first place?
2) What "other work" was performed at the dealer before all this happened?
3) And once again, was the car stalling when you turned on the air, before you took it to the dealer?

The story 1 piece at a time here, lets get the whole deal in one package, please, we are asking more questions than the OP asked us! Hot, take over here!

i got the problem fixed was a faulty ECU.
