Ok well heres the story. I went and got the spare heads checked and fixed(had a crack) and they were planed and I got new gaskets for 500 CDN. got everything done and it sounds like an old farm truck??? :banghead: runs fine has a slight miss but it did before to. the old heads looked fine so I think the bolts may have backed out on the old ones just like my mechanic said.
My dad and I busted our knuckles and sweat like pigs to get the car back up and running and my fiance loves it. It's a beautiful car no doubt but I personally think the engines still pooched. It's losing about a cm of coolant out of the reserve tank a day(checked hot) I think the blocks warped. far as I'm concerned being a Mopar guy I want to go out and buy a donor truck with a V6 auto and just completely swap it all over. I mean who designed the exhaust manifolds on these cars? we had to pry them with a pry bar to get them to be able to bolt them back on. then the intake what fun, whos idea was it to put the injectors in the heads and bolt the fuel rail to the intake???
Somebody help me she loves this car personally I love it to but it's not my brand. There must be a cheap and easy fix for this car it doesn't overheat the oil pressure is good. far as I'm concerned I loe the chassis other then those toothpick lower control arms It's great. but but the engine and tranny man just damn. Who designed this crap? I think old Henry Ford was rolling in his grave when they decided to put aluminum heads on a cast iron block with obviously the wrong r&d.
Can anybody offer me a suggestion or two? I hate to break her heart about this car she was so happy when she put the plates on it and could drive her own car. It sucks finally found her a car she likes and it's just to hard to fix. this is why I'm a dodge man. I havn't checked my coolant level in a year since myself and my father swapped the worn out motor it came with(used to haul horses) with one we had sitting in the back of our garage for 6 years and it's fine.
Please anyone have any suggestions? maybe some magic coolant system sealent that will seal whatever small gap is leaking if there is one?

what bolts did you use? arp studs or cheapos? if u went cheap you needed to follow a suquence and after the last 150 degree turn you need to walk away and come back a couple of hours later to recheck torque .they get loose
did they pressure check the head after they fixed it? did you mount the head gaskets with the word front towards the front of the car?
i just did mines and still gotta connect the exh manifolds so i know they are a pita , my car has a vac leak and runs like crap..
btw dont use any fix a leak crap

I think the coolant leak may have just been a little bit of air coming out of the system still, because it's not going down anymore. the tube that comes off the exhaust to the intake is cracked and won't reach the intake anyone know if this is a really big deal?
