Wet Sanding and Acryllics

Hey guys,
Well the title kind of gives away the question.
I am busy with the body on my Mini Cooper Rally, only thing is the painting instructions call fot it to be painted with an acryllic color, which ain't a big issue to me. Anyways, being the first time I am airbrushing an acyllic, I didn't thin it enough, so now I have a few areas of orange peel I want to sand out before laying down the next coat.
Is it safe to wet sand an acryllic, I realise it would have to be completely dry, so how long should I wait before I sand it?
Any info on this would be appreciated.
Thanks all.
Ray

i would wait a few days to be safe. If your using tamiya acrylics, they dry really fast like probably fully cured within a day.
i suggest using about 1500grit or higher to be safe.

From my experience it seems that airbrushed tamiya acrylics are a tad too thin and soft, so I would try and get rid of the orange peel with some mild to medium rubbing compound.

I have sanded them after a week but be very careful or you'll go right through. I use 2000 grit followed by a wet polish.:)
