Can anyone help me?!

I am so very frustrated at the fact that I have got 2 diagnostic tests by 2 different auto shops both of which couldn't find my HUGE problem. I don't understand!

Here's what I've been experiencing over the past 2 weeks...

1) I was traveling at high speeds, 70 mph, when I felt that my car was not "taking gas". I pulled over looked under the hood and found nothing out of the norm. No idiot lights, nothing. I kept on traveling from Houston to DFW (4 hours approx.) and experienced no other problems however I keep it at 60 mph for the remainder of the trip (approx. 1 hour).
-Took car for diagnostic the next day but found nothing. Got a new belt.

2) I was traveling at 20 mph and within a distance of approx. 15-20 yards my car all of a sudden stopped accelerating. I stopped the car completely and tried to reverse but couldn't. I once again popped the hood and found nothing out of the ordinary. I let it rest 30 minutes then started it back up. The car started fine but when I put my foot on the break it had felt like there was a lot of pressure (like when you bleed your breaks). Car did not move.
-Got the car towed to my parents. Then was able to actually drive it the next day to our mechanic. Took car to a different mechanic, left car there for a week. They drove it multiple times a day but couldn't reproduce the problem I'd been having. Got a tune up and oil change.

3) Traveled to and from Euless to downtown Fort Worth (25 minutes each way) and everything was fine. In the same trip I attempted to make a trip to the grocery store but couldn't make it back out of my complex. Suddenly the car was not accelerating and I had to park immediately. Once parked I attempted to reverse. I had the car in reverse laying on the gas but the car went NO WHERE! It felt like I had the e-break on but this type of e-break really worked because I was stuck!

I am clueless, my Dad who knows everything is clueless, and my f-ing mechanic is clueless but is willing to deplete my savings in the meantime. If you know what is causing all my frustration please save me from this insanity. I need help! :banghead:

Thanks!
Stacy

from what ive heard a clogged catalytic converter will let your car run until it heats up and then shut off until its cooled off, try changing your fuel filter, but other than that im not to sure

Feel your wheels after driving to see if one is quite hot or jack the car up and try to spin the wheels. Possibly a brake locking up or transmission problem. If you can drive it at night, drive until you have a problem and then look under the car at the exhaust system to see if it is glowing red. Just a few possibilities.
