2 questions

my mom has a 00 or 01 Deville with the pearl white paint job. She scraped a wall with the back lower part of the rear bumper where the plastic is - the first question is do I need to put a plastic primer on it first ? I have the 2 cans of paint they said I needed - is the bottom layer like a primer ?

The second question is a curiosity - not long ater starting the car and getting it going, there's a pump that comes on for about 10-15 sec, it sounds like it's coming from the back seat or trunk. What the heck is it ?

The sound is the compressor for the rear air shocks. 10 or 15 seconds sounds long, though. Mine is on for 3 or 4. I guess if it shuts off finally and the ride height is OK, then you are good to go.

well, I already have the paint .... it came in 2 cans, looks pretty professional to me. It's not a "scratch", it's a spot like 3" x 4" or so - so it had to be a spray can type thing.

I was just guessing on the pump, it may only be more like 5 sec, I don't drive it that much.
