This might seem like a stupid question.. but do you paint the metal coated bodies too??:confused: :confused:

Most metal bodies come painted and finished.

I think he's referring to the Tamiya special edition kits that has the bodyshell pre-metal coated, not the die-cast cars.
I don't think they should be painted (that would just cover up the metal plating!) but anyone know if clearcoat is needed? Or polish?
Been trying to get my hands on a Tamiya metal plated 360 Modena but no luck...

I don't know who would want a chrome car, but the plated body can be used as a super reflective undercoat for candy and pearl paint jobs. Other than that I don't see the purpose.:rolleyes:

I think it would look awersome with a fine blue clear paint... with the chrome under, the result should be very good...

Actually I got 2 of them....one is modena and one is S2000
They aren't that shiny....it's just silver coated...
I dunno i can put clear coat on
