LED's, Power source(battery holder), switch, wire and some solder. that's all you need, getting it to fit in the model is the only tough part. I did my 350z for about $20 and it came out great. it all just required alot of test fitting.

go to a model railroading section of ahobby shop. use a 12v transformer. there are a ton on little light options. Look HO scale.
ALSO ya can wire them to run multiple cars if you make a "feed" wire and place it under a shelf and drill up through the bottom and put a lead exiting the car bodys down through where the wheel wells are. It will not show up as much in a model competition, and there doesnt have to be an onboard batery system.
ALSO there are great micro switches you can get in the RC dept to use if you opt to put the batteries in the "trunk"
RADIOSHACK has a bunch of this great crap too.
check there.

Why go all that troube of wiring? Just get 2 light bulbs, connect two wires from the bulb to a battery and there you go, LIGHT!
No offense, but you guys make it seem like a hassle to put headlights on a model car, When I build a car that deserves lights, I'll put them on and you'll see that there's nothing to it!:D
