I need help on the pattern circuled in red. How do you make the paint job like that?

Depends. On some kits, the texture is molded onto the plastic, in which case, the question should be; how can i get a good metallic finish.
Where there is no pre-molded texture, you can either try and replicate by shooting paint through mesh as they do for carbon fibre effect or use a textured foil in place of paint
i.e glue the foil onto the surface.
Some have used the foil from cigarette packets to good effect.
I think there's some textured foil intended for use as heat shielding that you can try.
You can also try and apply a similar texture to some Bare Metal Foil and use that.

I've seen people use the silver liner from a pack if cigarettes. Probably applied with white glue(elmers?).

I kind of like the mesh idea more than the foil one for some reason lol so basically use mesh to get the pattern, and then apply some of that metal finish sprays (forgot name) to make it metal. right?

Since there are gaps after you assemble it, i think i might have to use foil after all to get the pattern...and to fell the gaps

Cigarette foil, MFH Heat shield or Crazy Modleer PE set cointains a heat shield IIRC (but could be wrong).

TBH I don't think you will get a very convincing heat shield effect by spraying through a mesh :2cents:

never tried the mesh method myself and you would need really fine mesh and good paint+airbrush for the percision needed. On the other hand, on a larger scale, I've seen pretty good effects used on architectural models by spraying through various materials.

Best way though for cars, is to stick with the foil method.
As mentioned before, several manufacturers have a heat shield patterned product. It's the simplest, quickest and the easiest method.

CM (full version, not sure on simplified) does contain a full shield where SMS super detailed kit only contains the upper half of the shield.
If you don't want to spend the money for PE stuff, then I would suggest cigarette foil.

Actually, Gauloise sans filtres is a MUCH better source for foil :)

The paper is not glued into the pack so it does not tear when being removed and also there is no writing embossed into it, so the whole surface is 100% useful.

As soon as Gauloise becomes freely available in the US, I will look at them for a source, in the meantime you can keep the smelly French cigarettes.

I did like this on the Enzo (sorry for the crappy pics but you get the idea..)
First I brushed on Tamiya clear, and let is sit until it got a bit dry and sticky. Then I pressed a spare piece of Tamiya plastic mesh against the sticky clear which resulted in this pattern:

I let it dry completley and then I covered the firewall in Bare Metal Foil and got this result:

Model railroad stores sell a wide variety of thin textured plastic and metal sheets similar to that firewall. If you don't have one locally, buy a copy of Model Railroader magazine and send for some catalogs. Good luck!

Man to get your model to look like that, it takes a lot of hair pulling and lot colorful words, just at the point of tossing the model across the room. some where in there you may get there and all the help from your fellow modelers can and will help you out a lot. (This is to lightin the mood)
Oh yeah go out and get some Detail Wires' you will need lots to do that engine bay. Or rip open a Phone cord!
