Windshild wippers

I have a 1979 Blazer, with intermitten wippers, the wippers will come on when Blazer is parked, not running with keys out. They will make a pass over windsheild and stop. There is no pattern to this. I have replaced the wipper motor assy, problem did not go away. Any help? Thanks Danny

Did you replace the wiper motor pulse board at the same time?

Right behind the flat plastic cover on front of the wiper motor.
3 torque screws holding cover on.
Did the mortor come with one it in it or did you use your old one in new motor?

I think 79 used a separate intermittent wiper module under the dash near the fuse panel. Connected between the wiper switch and the motor.

The board was inside I assume, the instructions didn't say anything about changing it. The unit works as it should normally, it also runs when it should not. I knew the older models had the board inside them, I thought the knewer models had much smaller ones, and mabey they were included inside the off, on switch. Thanks Danny

You may be right there Old Master.
I missed the 1979 part.
No pulse board in the motor on them.
A good repair book may help on it.
Some of them had a park setup in the wiper motor.
Is this a intermittent wiper motor or just a regular and does it have a windshield washer pump on motor?

I have the correct intermitten motor. I think we are on to the problem being the module under the dash. Thanks Danny:grinno:
