We are trying to trade in the jetta by the end of next week. This weekend we are looking at a few cars, but already have our eyes one one in particular that will most likely be in our posession next week if everthing goes smoothly. Its to the point that we are in the safe zone with the jetta, meaning we have paid enough that a trade in will pay off 90% of the jetta and be a good down payment on the next car about 4500-5000, though more would be nice, but im not keeping my hopes up there, so the down payment would pay for almost half of the price range we are looking at 10-12k. I will miss the car and so will my g/f but it's time to get rid of it while it's in perfect working condition.

Well by now I'm sure you guys are wondering, well what the hell are you going to get? This weekend we are going to be checking out a couple of Scion TC's one is a 2006 with around 6k miles for about 10-11k another is about the same, another is a 2005 with 23k miles fully loaded for 10k. Nontheless all the ones we are looking at still have factory warranty

And in about 2 months after we buy it we are purchasing the TRD supercharger since it adds onto the factory warranty if they install it themselves and if I install it hen it has a 1 year 12k mile warranty. It should be a fun car to drive especially when the S/C comes and this is a choice that has been pending for a while but is now coming into effect.

Oh and jeep i didnt mean to copy your title, lol, it just occured to me.

TRD supercharger=Turd People are having a hard time getting into the 14's with that setup. Its just a big waste of money. The engine is really strong and if you want to make the car fun to drive, turbo it. I hear those engines take alot of boost

the turbo = 5grand and no warranty. which is something i cant afford. I dont care much about drag times, you should know that by now. I just want the s/c to make it peppier is all. If I cared about 1/4 times I wouldnt be getting something that has 4 cylinders and getting good gas milage now would I?

look basically I am not going to be the daily driver for the car, it's my g/f cause she is driving the jetta now. I just want to add the supercharger for me to have some fun when I do drive it, cause even though I dont DD the jetta I still drive it once a day for something and I have fun in it. I would like to do the same in the TC without it costing me 4g's or more. I don't need crazy power in it cause I wont be in it all the time.

Allthough a TC wouldnt be on my list I think its a good car for the money no doubt...Adding the S/C will only make it more fun... Good luck on the purchase...

I tried getting a TC to race me a couple weeks ago... The guys tag said fasttc so I figured if you roll around with a tag like that it better be fast... Anyway I got up beside the guy and let him get an earful of my whiny-ass car... The guy looked at me then looked at his friend and said something and they both looked at me and laughed... I kinda got the feeling that I wasnt worth the time... I bet not though... I'd be willing to bet he didnt think my 4-door grocery getter was worthy but hell even if I think I cant win I go anyway...

Good luck,

Thanks, but yeah i did some research on people with the supercharger and they dont have problems getting into the mid to low 14's so i dont know where the person who mentioned that got that from. but yeah with the supercharger 200whp is good enough for my girl to use and for me to have fun in.

+1 on the tC choice :)its a fine daily driver stock, and the supercharger should only add to that without affecting your mpg too much. if i could afford the s/c i would so get it. i still owe like 10k on the car tho meh ><

I understand your reasoning gotian, its a pretty good car for the price, and the sc will add some more fun to it, I was just disagreeing with the fast 4 cylinder and good gas mileage part :)

There is nothing wrong with the TRD Supercharger, people are going this route because as Gotian stated, it doesn't void the car's warranty. I would probably do the same as Gotian, and once the warranty ends, strip out the supercharger and turbo that bioootch.

a side note: Gotian, when your warranty does end, i'd recommend looking up a turbo kit made by ZPI (zero point industries) <--big name in the tc community.

I Looked into the ZPI kit and it's nice cause it's the less expensive kit available, but again it's not my DD so I dont need all that power. Anyways here is an Update:

We called up the first dealership on the list, turns out the guy is driving the car around so as soon as he said that I was like, no thank you, I don't know how you drive and I'm not risking buying the car and having to take it in for warranty work within a week or so. We called the 2nd dealer on our list and unfortunately they were closing soon and they were located about 30 minutes away so we werent going to make it. So I figured lets go to the scion dealership so we can test drive a new one and have something to compare for when we go look at the other ones. We go and there are alot of people since they are having a sale on the toyotas there. The dealer shows us his TC's and they were nice and comfortable inside. We asked for a test drie and he said we could only test drive a used one so I said fine, please point us in the direction of the used department.

We get to the used department and the guy there shows us a 2007 TC with 17k miles. First thing I said "Thats alot of miles for a 2007, my 2006 RX-8 has just as many on it." Then he shows me the price for 18k+ And then I say. "That's a bit expensive for that many miles. and it's over our price range." He prints it out for me and says "What can I say, they hold their value." He had a smart ass smirk on his face. I Know this guy isnt a salesman since he is at the receptionist desk answering the phones. "Well can I get a salesperson to show me the car and so I can test it out to see If i like the car and maybe look into another one you might have here?" I asked him. And he replies with the same smartassed smirk. "Oh, it's out of your price range." I look at him and I'm like, "Thanks for all your help you smartass receptionist, you just convinced me to buy a honda." and me and my girl stormed out of there.

We went to another dealer nearby, a maroone nissan and maroone is just like another carmax, where they have a huge used section but the also sell new cars. We get there and we ask a salesman if he can show us the used department and that we are looking for a manual for under 13k, he said okay and took us to the used section. he showed us an Automatic honda accord for 10k then an Auto Altima for 12k we told him again , we wanted a manual for under 13k and he's like "Oh you can check out the versa it's for under 13k" And we tell him "well lets see what you have used first." So he goes and shows us another Auto altima but for 15k and another one for 16k and my g/f and I were like WTF? We told him again "Manual for under 13K" And he said "Well you can see the versa." Im thinking is this guy preprogramed for the versa? So to go with his programing we check out the versa and what do we find? Automatics for now 17k so we tell him no thank you and leave.

Now we are puttin gup the car in Autotrader for 8k so that way we have more options instead of trading it in. Lets see what happens.

Yeah. That kind of reminds me of when i was looking for my tC. One of the dealers i went to said they will ONLY sell tC s with upgraded leather interior and upgraded 18" rims ( i wanted neither of those) they basically told me too bad if i didn't want upgraded leather/rims. It took a good three months or so to actually find one.

I feel you Gotian, I had a tough time at one dealership in town. I wanted an F150 becuse the dealership was offering 10 grand off new 07's because they have 08's on the lot already. I went ahead and found the 2 out of about 50 trucks that I could afford. I then went and found a salesman. We walked over to the first truck and I start asking him about the 10 grand. He then tells me that the offer is only extended to the higher end trucks (30-34k) which I kinda thought that but you gotta try, right? The guy then tells me that theres a rebate on this one as well, just not as much. Hes like, lets go get the keys and drive it. I said no I wanted to know how much the truck was bottom line. No sense waisting all of out time if I cant afford it. He said he wouldnt know the total rebate until we drove it  :angryfire :banghead:

I didn't say a word I just walked away. Less than 24hrs later I was driving a brand new truck with everything I wanted for less than 19 grand so I was happy... The place I ended up buying from was very easy to deal with. When I told them what I wanted and what I would be willing to spend they made it happen in under 2 hours. We were all pleased. Allthough my Jeep was way nicer as far as luxury is concerned but whatever...

sorry for the hi-jack
