My name is steven I live in Houston Texas. I just bought the new
2002 lancer in America, and I have been trying to find the body kit that is on the original ones from japan, that i can buy, but have had no luck.
Does anybody know where I can get it also the hood.

Give it some time. The aftermarket takes some time to come with products especially aero kits.

dudes, i had the same problem when i had my mivec and wanted it to look go-faster. bodykit.com does not solve the problems.

Heres the reason: VERY IMPT, it you want to change the standard evo kit, thats fine. if you have the cash to flash, do it.

but once you start tampering with the rear wheel arches, youre screwed. anyone can make his lancer look evo IV, not more. the distinguishing mark of the evo V and VI are the wheel arches. By adding the wheel arch, the axle has to be fitted with a device (cant remember the name) that allows it to ride on an extended wheel base. Of course this comprimises the ride, speed (60mph) and most imptly, SAFETY. You must not overload with rear passengers as this attachements do not allow (an permit) additional weight on the wheel (esp CV joints).

Please do not do this!!! you will compromise your car's safety, the passengers and YOUR safety.

my 2c worth.

btw, there was a disclaimer on the website but it was taken off. i wonder why. Me??? i just went and bought the real McCoy......a pearl white VI.

I think that is all he wants was the front grill kit, whats wrong with changing out the front bumper and hood, doesn't change the wheel spacing at all. And the kit is designed for the american lancer and it will give the evo 7 appearence.

I dont know where you got your info, but i've been talking to the company in shri-lanka or wherever, and they told me that the kit doesn't change the wheel base or anything like that. Granted if you want you lancer to stand and leave a wider footprint like the evo7, then yah you need wider axles or extensions. But to put a body-kit on....?
Huh, I guess we better titanium reinforce those extensions to be able to handle the weight in the rear end!

dude, point taken.

the mass production lancers have a shorter wheelbase than the Evos. If you fit the bodykit onto a stock lancer, the flared rear wheel arches will stick out like a sore thumb. Your wheels, be it 215/45/16-17s or whatever will look shortchanged. I have seen some guys who really make the effort but end up not making the cut. No offense but i think anybody who wants a 110% complete makeover for the lancer should be careful. I am not against any modification just cautious.....

happy hunting and good luck!!

the american lancers are different from the evos. a little different shapes. but it would look really nice with evo bodykits.
so far, there isnt any evo VII bodykits. but just wait a couple month and there should be some.
but dont expect a lot.
because the evo VI or V's had like a choice from 5 bodykits. not much available because the evo's already look aggressive and it basically has a bodykit installed already
