I have a b2200 and im not feeling the carb setup . So i wanna go EFI. I know the 87 came 2600 but i also noticed the motor mounts where different. What would i need to put a 90 b2600 motor into my 87? All im really worriied about is the motor and mounts. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

you don't want to do this... you want to keep the 2200 engine, and get an EFI setup for it.

There is a head swap you can do to use the Kia DOHC head, it's a direct swap, but the EFI setup is slightly different... best thing you could really do is use the EFI setup from the 2600, and do the ECU and wiring harness for it, but I'm not sure if the manifold bolt pattern is the same... the reason you don't really want the 2600 head is b/c the second cam is chain driven off the first... you lose ALOT of tuneability..

Like I said, do a little research, find out what DOHC head works from the Kia cars, bolt that on, use IT'S EFI setup, but your own choice of ECU. in fact, you could use a decent OBD-0 Honda ECU, and I have almost the perfect one in mind for this swap... you'd be looking for a PM6 honda ECU, it's a 88-89 version though. don't use the 90-91, as you'll throw a CEL for Vehicle Speed Sensor, since your truck doesn't have one. also, you'll only be able to use one 02 sensor, but you won't need both of them. (if yours has both.)

as for the wiring to do all this, I can help you with getting the wires from the sensors back to the ECU, but as far as getting the right plugs in the right places, and identifying each sensor, you're on your own.

The head swap is easy to figure out, just compare the head gaskets from each engine.. preferably at a parts store.. find the two that have all the same holes, and the head that it goes to is the one you need.
