Have a 1995 Ford Contour GL with the v6== Engine light would come on at high RPMs and then go out at lower speed--Engine would miss at high RPMs. Changed the fuel filter and now the check engine light will come on at lower speeds== it does go out -does not miss at lower speed. Possibly the fuel pressure regulator? Where is it?

I'm not familiar with your vehicle, but this is from the Ford service manual for the '95 Contour 2.5L V6:

«Section 03-04B: Fuel Charging and Controls--2.5L»
«DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION»
Fuel Pressure Regulator
The fuel pressure regulator:
Is attached to the fuel injection supply manifold downstream of the fuel injectors.
Regulates the fuel pressure supplied to the fuel injectors.
Is a diaphragm-operated relief valve in which one side of the diaphragm senses fuel pressure and the other side is subjected to intake manifold vacuum. Nominal fuel pressure is established by a spring preload applied to the diaphragm.
Balances one side of the diaphragm with manifold pressure to maintain a constant fuel pressure drop across the fuel injectors.
Bypasses and returns excess fuel to the fuel tank.
