Guys,

I just noticed that my back light for a clock was not lit up when I turned ON the Park or Headlight. Can you give me some suggestions to where I should start looking? Thanks.

The bulb is burned out. I'm suprised yours lasted this long. Most 6th gen owners complain that theirs is out after about 2 years. The bulb is tiny as hell

I can't remember the bulb number but the dealership will know what it is. They may overcharge you for it though. I paid $6 but I was too lazy to find out the bulb size and search for it elsewhere.

Pry the clock/ hazard button unit out of the dash from the sides. It may be in there kinda tight but it'll come out without problems. Disconnect the two wire harnesses and on the back you'll see the back of the bulb holster which can be removed by turning it counter-clockwise.

Yea mine is out too both the clock and the hazard light button. It's lame, I went to the dealer and tried to buy the bulbs and they told me that I have to buy the new clock assembly and the hazard button assembly... I was like WTF.

I know kragen and autozone sell them, just finding the right one is pain in the butt. I think the bulb code starts with T I'll look around and see if I can find any and will let you know.

I know for sure ebay sells LED upgrade for it. Little pricey but LED last much longer and brighter :)

Replace the assembly!?! I hate when dealers blatantly lie. The assembly is the most useless part. If they said you needed a new wire harness that could be so but a new button/clock/frame is highly unlikely. Tell the dealer to go fuck him/herself but before you do go to the parts counter and get the part number for the bulb. They can easily look it up in the computer and give you a printout with the price and number.

If you want LED go to LEDautomotive (http://www.ledautomotive.com/OrderInfo/) don't mess around with ebay junk

Just go to the parts dept and ask them for the clock bulb for a 01 accord. They can look up parts by description and should have some on hand. If not, then they can at least tell you the part # so you can get it elsewhere.

I think 74 is for gearbox shift light and speedometer. The clock one is much smaller about maybe 1/8 of an inch? Mine just went out too :banghead:

Oh wait I just saw a pic from klvaleri. That is 74. Its about $2-$3

I opened the clock and hazard light switch yesterday and it wasn't bulb 74. They are much more smaller, as size of a lady bug... I found a link that has info for moding, check it out.

I took a few out today just to check the size and as I carefully put them back I some how blew 2 bulbs lol

They are soo tiny and fragile...
Now my Fan Speed knob light is out and along with air control switches lights are all not working... :banghead:

I'm gonna try to upgrade them to LED instead.

similar thing happened to me when I took my hvac display apart. Suddenly my upper row of buttons went out. I upgraded to led and it all looks sweet right now. I'll take some pics and put em up later today... but beware its from my shitty camera phone

Nice! What type of LED and what Volt are they? I tried one earlier and it smoked lol. I didn't use any resister or anything. Maybe I have to get higher voltage LEDs.

I'm pretty clueless when it comes to the specifics of electronics mods so I'm not 100% sure what the voltage is but I'm pretty sure it runs on 12v. The bulbs for hvac controls and clock required soldering a resistor into the circut.

I think you can get LEDs with pre-soldered resistors at superbrightleds.com (http://www.superbrightleds.com)

I also found alternative replacement bulb from Radio Shack. Look under flashlight bulbs section (drawer.) The one with long wires about 3mm two in a pack for $1.50

They fit perfectly on to the wedge and uses 12 volt. :)
I'm sure you can also use it for 5mm bulbs (heater knobs, buttons, and speedometer.)

The digital clock backlight burned out in my 2000 Accord. It was $1.96 at the dealer and easy to replace. P/N is S4000E H35505-S84-N01

"00accord44" posted nice instructions on replacement.
