Keeping it stock...

Ok I have a 2002 Camaro V6. I bought the car for $4000. When I got it we didn't think the radio work so I took the trim off and turns out the stereo wasn't hooked up. Hooked it up and it works but the cassette doesn't work. I want to keep it looking stock if I can. Atleast for now. I was wondering if I could go to a junkyard and maybe get a stock cd player from another camaro and be able to use it with the harness in the car, and if anyone has an idea as to how much one would cost?

So mine wasn't the only one from 2000 that came with a tape deck?

the cd headunit was used/available in almost all gm cars/trucks so it shouldn't be hard finding one. saw one at a local pick ur part a couple days ago for $30. i cant see one costing more that $60 or so.

Ok so any cd head unit from the 2000's and from a GM car should have the same wiring harness so it will just be plug and play for the most part? Also what about the theftlock things on the new stereos where if it's removed from the car you have to unlock it to get it to work again, how would I get one to work then?

as far as i know, if you pull it out of a car and it locks you have to take it to the dealer to unlock it.

That will be my luck that it will be locked. If it ends up being that much trouble I'll probably end up settling and just get a Pioneer head unit. Thanks for the help.
