96 Tracker Muffler

Hows it going, My buddy has a 96 tracker 4dr. He needs a new muffler and the shop he got an estimate from says its going to be $400 to do it because they "say" he needs a new pipe from the cat to the muffler. My buddy says there is just very little rust on the pipe. I havent looked at it yet and I said i would fix it for him and save him probably $300 on the hole deal.
So my question is, is it hard to get the muffler off or is it just like any other muffler on any car. Unbolt the clamps and the hangers and put the new one in?
Thanks for your help!

depends on the muffler some are bolt on some aren't you can find them at a lot of online stores but for the 4 door from what i can see they are running around 200+ so you might want to just do the 400 and not have to worry about waranties and any issues that might arise. :)

I myself would opt for doing the work myself and replacing the muffler and cat converter and ordering them from puresuki.com and it will only be around 300 for the cat converter all the way back
