1995 Cutlass Supreme engine racing

I am trying to find out what is wrong with my son's car....it is a 1995 Cutlass Supreme 3.4L - I have had this car for about a year and a half and have numerous issues.
The current issue is that when the car first starts up, idles and runs fine. However, after the car has warmed up, the engine races....if you shut it off, and let it cool down, it is fine.
I was told to replace the idle control valve, which I did, but it continues to do the same thing. Any ideas???

Welcome to AF.
Did you set the IAC to measure 1/8" from the tip to the base ?
Is the port it sets in clean and free flowing sir through it ?
Check your vacum lines and air intake for leaks.
