Don't know if any of you knew, but i bought a DX motor with like 220,000 miles on it for $100 to temporary replace my D16a6 motor i just built. I expected to at least have some balls when i put all my MPFI swap, noo way haha. I decided to run el slow d15b2 at the track tonight to hopefully see how many runs i could do to blow the damn thing, but shit, the sucker wouldnt blow! I was even shifting at 7200 RPM to hear that great sound of the revlimiter. I guess trying to blow a motor on purpose is harder than i thought! I managed to get a best time of 17.1 on the 1/4 mile with this engine :)

Well you guys are probably thinking, why is this dude trying to blow up a motor? Well, tonight i am swapping back the freshly built D16a6 after 9 months of saving money and work for parts to put on the D16a6.

I will post some pics of the swap when i get done :)

89 integra pistons, port/polish, 3 angle valve job,Web Cam,milled head, shotpeened rods, decked block, honed bores, fully hot tanked head/block, all new bearings/gaskets/seals. compression ratio should be about 10:1+

your d16a6 is gonna be nice, congrats

a 17.1, that's more than i would expect from a d15a2 even with MPFI, i've still got a d15a2, but hopefully that will change some day.

I never frown on any Honda motor :)
Just some of their features, like DPFI instead of MPFI.

Question...Are you going with honda bearings? Also, which head gasket did you decide on?

Are you doing anything with your TB, and intake manifold?

-I live my a quarter mile at a time and for that 17 seconds or less I'm free, lol. (i had to) (honda motor's take a lickin and keep on tickin) good luck with the new motor install, you'll be running low number's in no time.;) cool story BTW.

dude you must suck at driving I hit a 16.8 with my D15b2 with the mpfi swap..stock exhaust manifold....only had an air filter and cat back exhaust...minus the cat....

My DX has never lost to a SI:finger:

I went with OEM Honda EVERYTHING. I was thinking about using D-series VTEC bearings, but i nobody could tell me if they would of worked on my d16a6. I've heard that VTEC bearing could handle higher RPM, since people out there put GSR bearings on their non-VTEC B18 motors..

I went with the OEM headgastket for my motor, thought about a copper one, but lacked knowledge on its benefits.

I did nothing to my TB, my intake manifold has been port matched.

Well you have to understand that the DX motor has over 200K miles on it and it was in an Si car, that is of course heavier than the DX car. I am a good driver by the way, i managed a 16.00 with the Si motor before i pulled it, it was with i/h/e and with a bad clutch. :)

smart one...if you notice that is a 17.1 with a DPFI D15b2, not a MPFI D15b2, so I'm going to say that he can drive if he was only .3 seconds behind you with half the fuel injectors.

alright sorry for being a cocky bastard but you must also note ....that he said he was running it to 7200rpm (rev-limiter on SI) and he even said for it to have some balls with the mpfi...so dude you must not know how to read...And oh...I didn't figure in the 200k miles on it so actually that isn't that bad.....:frog:

alright...forgive me for my fast reading habits, sometimes i skip things. Also how he said it you can't really tell what engine he is talking about the MPFI going on, but as you can see in the pic the DPFI intake is sitting right there, but that also doesn't mean it was on the engine when he raced it. Also I think he might have had a SI ECU in his car.

its cool man...I'm a natural asshole but I'm working on it...but on that note he had to have the mpfi on it cuz his si ecu wont run dpfi...and I doubt he rewired his car for dpfi...either way.........don't hate me guys.....oh and I'M NOT A CHEESEHEAD!!!!
