I have had this problem for a while. I started getting Check Engine Light on about 2 years ago at about 78000 miles. I have had this light come on few times and have been noticing the engine oil pressure very low. During regular oil change, some mechanics told me that your oil level was low, but I did not pay much attention to that since I did not see any oil marks when I park my car. However, when I last got the check engine light on couple of months ago, mechanic got the same error code (P1259) with no real explanation as to what is causing this light to come on. But he noticed that the oil level was not even half a quart when he did the oil change. So, he asked to check my engine oil regularly. A week ago, I noticed that my car lost 3 quarts of an oil in month and a half with only 1200 miles. I did some research online and found that many 2000 accord owners have experienced the same issue. I am seeing a mechanic tomorrow, but was wondering if anyone has correctly diagnosed the problem. I do not want to go in circles without finding any solution after spending lots of money. Please respond promptly if you know the answer. I will really appreciate it. Thanks.

Which motor we talking about?
I checked the ODI database and can't come up with any TSB's or defect complaints involving oil loss on 2000 Accords. Found a lot of complaints of broken head bolts, but you'd know something was wrong, most likely (cooling problems).
Tell me what engine, and I can check a couple of other sources...

Just to make sure, you understand the connection between the fault code and the oil loss, right? The VTEC is oil pressure activated...

Was this issue ever resolved or did anyone find out any information that was helpful? I am having similar issue with my 2000 Honda Accord Coupe (2.3l 4 cyl, w/VTEC). I posted a question today about this as well but came across this post from 6 months ago as well.
thanks!
thanks!

thanks! The first thing to check is your oil level. The VTEC system depend on the presure. Low oil - low pressure.
Good luck,
Sam
